5 day grace period vs. domain tasting
Has all logic escaped this industry?
I recently, mistakenly registered the wrong domain name. It was a mental fart, and I caught it about 2 minutes afterwards and tried to correct it with my hosting company. Which started a round of emails back and forth between the help desk and I.
Finally, I found the ICANN website and was able to ask what was the policy regarding canceling domain name accounts. Here I learned about "domain tasting"!
ICANN, Onlinenic.com, Hichina.com, and their criminal resellers
Hello.
I and several of my colleagues have been dutifully monitoring and reporting several hundreds of thousands of illicitly-registered domains which nearly always lead back to either Onlinenic or Hichina.
These are two very large-scale domain registrars, and we have uncovered a very large problem with at least two of their domain resellers. I have several week's worth of documentation and other research regarding this serious problem, and I want to know how to get this information into the hands of the right people at ICANN.
Domain Ext
I would like to know how I can go about obtaining a domain ext not a .com or the like but one of my choice for private utilization can you please advise any and all response would be appreciated.

Music Domains
I wanted to start a music service for people in the film or radio industry but all the good royalty free music domains have been taken. Is there a service that will notify me of expired (or nearly expired) music related domains? Thanks.
Mark versus Domain name
Hello
My name is Marian Simulteanu and I am administrator and General Manager of SC Smart-Transport srl from Timisoara/Romania.
I have bought a domain named Bursa-Transport.info and my site www.Bursa-Transport.info is a non commercial site.
A few weeks ago I received a document from a lawyer who is representing Bursatransport.ro staff and he asked me NOT TO USE “Bursa Transport” name for my site because he said it is “protected”.
The problem is they registered as a trademark “bursatransport.ro” but NOT HAVING EXCLUSIVITY USING THE WORDS BURSA, TRANSPORT AND .RO.
Can something be done about webhosts who abandon their business?
If we pay for our domain name , we should at least keep the domain name to move to a new host,if our files are gone (cannot access cpanel). This happened to me for a second time.I pay for a domain name and pay the webhosting company for 99% up time , 24/7 support, then they are gone. No replies to support tickets, I cannot access my cpanel, my sites have been offline for 3 weeks, I am a reseller who is having my customers getting very angry with me because they are down the past 3 weeks.I would move to a new host but I cannot access any files to move.
Italian Domains
I see for italian hosting provider in past week for some domains .it (i'm spanish, so excusme for my english), i try to buy with www.rubalo.it (emmeweb is the company), i see that this company is very aggressive with price and service and service is good, with control panel and support in english/spanish/italian and portoguese. I hope that this company continue with this quality. Thank you

Pricing
I wonder how much the pricing will be to own a TLD? If it's made too high only the large corporations will be able to own one. If the prices are kept under a couple thousand it will be better for everyone.
New top level domains, like .ski
.com domains are saturated. You have to start thinking on brands like smoke-top-123-ski.com. People do not remember .net domains and let's not talk about other extensions (.biz, .info, etc).
I have a chile ski website and I would LOVE to be able to have a .ski domain... but would that be useful for the entire World Wide Web or would just create more confusion?
