Fellowship observatons at ICANN Part 6 (Final)
On Thursday, the Public Forum was very much that, with so many details and issues that it is impossible for me to even mention them. Two things that I found particularly interesting, maybe because they were outside the TLD, IDN, Geo TLD type of comment, was a public comment on the fact that the decision to allow a raise in the cost of .com and following raise in price of .net was the one single most important factor affecting the end user. I do not know if this in fact true, but it was a well presented, coherent and unique presentation.
Fellowship observatons at ICANN Part 4
Hi everybody! We are still having an exciting time in San Juan.
ICANN Fellowship at San Juan, Part 3
Just a quick note (upon re-reading, I see it's not so quick or short. Sorry.) on what's happening at ICANN in Puerto Rico, from my particular viewpoint.
I the attended the ICANN Public Forum, and found the President's report by ICANN president Paul Twomey, to actually be very interesting, not the dry, formal information one might expect. There was lots of intensity in this report, lots of policy work, lots of progress.
ICANN Fellowship at San Juan, Part 2
The ICANN meeting is a very interesting, exciting place to be. Yesterday I attended the LAC At Large meeting--Its first General Assembly. Since this group is just starting up its formal procedures, most of what I saw was taken up with approving procedural rules. It is interesting to watch the dynamics of this process. It seems to be similar throughout the world. Not my favorite part of a meeting, but of course, very important to set a good foundation for future work. The North American group went through the same process a bit more quickly.
First Fellowship Day at ICANN
Hi everybody, I am writing this particularly for those who applied for fellowships to the ICANN meeting and were unable to make it. This is an informal, personal aside on the meetings, what you won't find in the agenda or in the "normal" information and documents.
Well, the forecasts of rain have not held true yet. The weather is hot and humid, but beautiful. There was a nice breeze yesterday evening.
