ICANN participation

May 2007

Received an invitation for ICANN to participate at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum (June 9-10); worked on logistics, and gathering of information. Continued work with the .su people.

April 2007

Signed accountability framework with Armenia (.am); participation at two conferences in Moscow - the network security one, and the Russian Internet Forum. Participation of Theresa Swinehart, Steve Goldstein, and Steve Crocker showed ICANN commitment to work with Russia not for the short run, but for a life-time relationship. Engaged in a discussion forum for ccTLD operators, organized by the Uzbekistan ccTLD.

March 2007

.ru ccTLD signed the accountability framework with ICANN. A second Russian registrar was accredited by ICANN. Talks about .su and about IDN took place in Lisbon. Preparing accountability framework with Armenia.

* Veni Markovski was appointed as regional liaison for the CIS (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan,Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan,Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan)
